Re-Introducing Me + Guided by Giggles
It’s been a while since I’ve really shared the “why” behind Guided by Giggles, so I thought it was time for a re-introduction for those of you who’ve been around and an introduction for those of you who are new.
How It Started
As a teenager, my world revolved around softball. Then an injury forced me to step away for a year, and suddenly, I wasn’t “the athlete” anymore. That’s when depression crept in, and I struggled to figure out who I was outside of the sport I loved. In the middle of that storm, I stumbled into art, and it became my lifeline. Creating gave me a way to process my feelings, to see beauty when I couldn’t always feel it, and to remind myself that I was more than just one part of my identity.
The Counselor + The Mom
Fast forward to today, and I’m a counselor who loves working with kids and teens, helping them build skills, confidence, and healthy ways to navigate emotions. But I also care deeply about moms. Parenting is a mix of magic and mess, and it’s easy to feel like you’re carrying it all alone. My heart is to help moms feel seen and supported, to remind you that it’s okay to not have it all together, and to share strategies that can help with both your own emotions and the everyday chaos of parenting.
The Creative (and Sometimes Scatterbrained) Side
If you’ve peeked around my site, you know it’s a bit of a mish-mash; counseling resources, parenting humor, educational activities, playful SEL tools, and then…a bunch of art, seamless patterns, and even physical products. Honestly, that’s just me. I’m a mom, a counselor, and a creative who can’t quite stick to one lane. Guided by Giggles is where all those pieces come together.
And yes, I’m also the type of person who randomly writes children’s book ideas in the notes app at midnight…and then gets distracted before actually finishing them. (One day I’ll conquer self-publishing on Amazon and add those books here too. Until then, my brain will keep throwing new ideas at me faster than I can keep up. Sigh.)
Why It Matters
Guided by Giggles started as a passion project, but since stepping back from client work, it’s also a source of income for my family that I hope to build over time. It’s a space where I get to blend counseling, creativity, and motherhood, and hopefully offer you encouragement, resources, laughter, and maybe even some products you love along the way.
So whether you’re here for the parenting strategies, the SEL printables, the funny mom chaos stories, the whimsical patterns, or just a reminder that you’re not alone. So, here’s to growing, creating, and giggling together. I’m so glad you’re here. 💛
